How invoices are communicated to customers

Applies to: Outseta 3.0 (Documentation for the new Stripe Billing oriented version of Outseta launched on October 1, 2026.)

You can configure Stripe to automatically send invoices and notifications to your customers. These settings are configured in your Stripe account.

Automatic Invoice Emails

Finalized Invoices—Automatically send invoices to customers once the invoice has been finalized.
Payment Receipts—Automatically send payment receipts to customers after successful payments.

Manual Invoice Sending

You can manually send invoices through the Stripe Dashboard or API:

Dashboard: Go to the Invoices page, click the invoice, then Send invoice.
API: Use the Send invoice endpoint.

Adding additional invoice recipients

Add CC recipients to invoices by editing a customer's billing information in the Stripe Dashboard. You can specify comma-separated email addresses for both the "To" and "CC" lines.
